Do Ameraucana and EE have different leg coloroing? I got some chicks a few days ago. The person told me they were Ameraucana chicks. I questioned "Ameraucana or EE"? He said Ameraucana. I don't have a preferance I just want to know what I have.

Here is a comparison of Ameraucana, Araucana, and EE's. Maybe you can see something here that will help.

There are very strict standards for what makes an Ameraucana or Araucana. There are no standards at all as to what makes an EE. If it does not meet Ameraucana standards, it is an EE.

They look like the "Americana's" I got from the feed store, which they ordered from Ideal Poultry.

Easter Eggers. Generally speaking, if you get them from a feed store or hatchery - they are EE's.

X2. Also, it's little feet appear to be willow in coloration, not Ameraucana slate.

Their coloring is wrong for pure Ameraucana's. Pure Ameraucana's do not come in that coloring, so they are EE's.

Here's the Ameraucana Breeders Directory showing the approved colors:

Actually, they look like the Silver Ameraucana chicks on the site linked in the post above.

Silver Ameraucana's are silver in coloring. The birds above are partridge in coloring. They don't look anything alike.
