Hatched some babies out of my splash Ameraucana Roo and Speckled Sussex hen. Only have two at the moment, but they are feathering very differently! 11 weeks old!

Up first we have Midday (My kids love Toby Mack and our girl, Midnight, needed a sister), she hatched out smaller, and had no cheeks or beard, has more of a peacomb instead of Sussex comb, and has yellow/pink legs at the moment. If she is following Sussex growth patterns for wattles and comb, she will be a gal. If she’s following in her Daddy’s footsteps, she’ll be a cockerel.

Second, we have Star. My niece fell in love with her, so she is staying at their home. She was the bigger of the two so I instantly thought boy, but I’m about 99% sure she is girl. Her comb is so light for 11 weeks for both breeds, but it’s a Sussex comb shape. She has the cheeks and beard, and a much lighter peacomb than her sibling. Her coloring is mostly barred at this point, black and brown. She seems to be following more of an Easter Egger pattern.
In the first picture she is the chick on the right.
