My new white am rooster"Smoky" is happily running and playing with his new mates. Very pretty cockerel from Nosey chicken via Chickster that I just acquired a few days ago.

Congrats! It's a very pretty shade of blue, too.

When I unpacked my eggs from Wayne Meredith I was slightly disappointed with the egg color, it was much paler than I had expected. I only have one Wheaten pullet from my hatch, hopefully she lays an egg similar to yours!

The pullet that laid this is actually from Cpartist. (The ones in my Avatar) My Wayne Meredith chicks are roughly a month and a half behind these guys. I too was surprised the WM eggs weren't darker/ bluer. I was really happy with Luanne's egg color. [IMG]

Here are her eggs in my 'bator: very happy with them!

Well that makes me even more excited- I've got 3 beautiful Wheaten girls from Luanne that should be laying in a few months! [IMG]

Heres a ? for the wheaten peeps. I ve got several blue weatens hatched on may 3rd, and all the boys looks similar except for one, and he looks to have more yelowish feathers in his breast area and hackles. The other boys have mostly orange/gold color in theirs.
Here is a closer side shot, man its hard to get them to sit still when theyre near each other.

second shot he is the closer bird.

Im curious if he might be splash or just slightly off-color. Thanks,

    Terry
