Thank you for that link, i was just asking bc i know you have to start with true ameraucanas to get the other im sorry for bringing it up but i knew you guys would know better then i. Most people around here where i live dont have a clue about them and think that they are both in the same breed when i know they aren't. I have a ameraucana trio a splash roo a splash hen and a black hen i plan on separating them out later and starting them they are my fav color in the ameraucanas. Thank you so much for the info ill ask other questions if need on the other link until i get them separated later when they can be pure.

You must be so excited to get them separated! Your Splash roo with your splash hen will make all Splash, the Splash to Black will make Blue! Just keep learning! Any pure Ams that are "off color" to their type are also considered Easter Eggers. You will learn more on the EE site! If you have no other roo, then you can begin to collect the splash and blacks eggs now. If not there is a waiting period to make sure the roo you want is the father, and the hens are clear of any other rooster. 3-4 weeks to be certain.

Where did you get her? Was it from an Ameraucana breeder that breeds to the SOP?

I got her from a breeder, he said he bred his birds for their color, and eggs. I didn't see the mother, but the dad was a black rooster.
