Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

There is a big difference between a cross-breed and an outcrossing done to pick up a specific trait for a breed. Like color.
Both types can be quite valuable if they are bred conscientiously.

So I am considering crossing a Lavender to my wheatons and Blue wheaton, what would this produce? and then using the offspring to hopefully get lav wheatons or something close

Does anyone have any experience with Lav Splits feathering in white wing tips?
It is not unusual for Blacks, Splits or Lavs to have a couple white tipped primaries as juveniles. The vast majority will lose these and feather in the solid color.

Egg color will be greenish a rare chance of brown like the serma.Since the hen is mosly black you should get blacks with probable leakage on the males when they mature.
Awwww. no lav female seramas? the black hen comes from parents that come from all colors. i don't even think her chicks would be black?
