Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

It looks blue. Either the white hen has some BBS in the background or you could get mixed plumage as it feathers in.
She probably knows, so ask her, or you could do a test hatch and see what you end up with when it is older.

I'll be getting some of Jean's great packaging tomorrow but mine is coming in the cute fluffy butt version all nestled snug in their box

Jean, the black pullet I hatched from your eggs last summer is DEFINITELY broody! She is hunkered down on the nest guarding her stash ferociously. She growls and screams everytime I open the pop door. Like I want her ol' eggs anyway.

So who knew? I have a broody ameraucana and not a single broody silkie (and there are 6 of those out there!).

In other news- the egg color is blueing right up! The Cree egg is still really green tinted, but all three of your girls are doing a nice blue. I'll try to get pictures for you. After my initial panic, they are looking GREAT! I couldn't be more pleased!

They were late getting in here. They left Nashville at 6am and when my phone didn't ring at 6:45 I did a few things and headed to the annex office to see where they were..just got in at 8 they took a scenic route..poor babies in a box all that extra time.No worse for it though they are all eating and drinking-fat little buggers and those cheeks

I'll see if my camera has any batteries left and get some of both bunches of Jeans chicks we have now...I need to stop collecting her chicks and find some not related now.

What do you think of the little lavs??????

I toe punched the blacks that came from the lav/split eggs. There are also blacks in there from the regular blue and black pen. One looked like it might be a very dark blue.....

It's so amazing that the usps can get those babies moved so fast! Well, most of the time.

I was just down there looking at the kids..those lavenders are bigger and fatter than most of them

can't wait to see them a little more feathered because they are beautiful babies.I was going to ask about the toe punch I figured it was something like that-thanks now I can tell them apart. The variations on the blues is super some are just so dark there is one that is all beard and tufts. No favorites though since we love all the colors there is no way to pick..the silvers are beautiful and the white and the little blacks even though they are only black are still so pretty.
There is one light blue..the smallest one in the bunch that is very sleepy or had a rough time so I'll keep an extra eye on her-it's a pullet because she's way too fascinated with my wedding ring and we all know diamonds are a girls best friend

Now,the only way anyone may get any of these is if most say Cock A Doodle Doo
PO did a great job..just wonder why express mail goes on a later truck to me than Priority mail..seems since both leave at the same time heading in the same direction Express would get here sooner but still you called here at 5pm and they were here at 8am that's pretty darn good service...they actually got to Nashville in 13 hours.
Ok who wants to part with some white and silver chicks..other than Jean
