I have a couple of questions. I got some white ameracauna chicks that I hatched from a well known breeder on the ameracauna site and byc.
Now I hatched five lovely chicks. They are pure white except one which has a grey or blue hue but the feathers are coming in white. Two of the chicks have yellow legs where the other 3 have slate blue legs. I thought ee's had yellow legs. They came from the same flock so why does some have yellow and the others blue. I don't care they are all beautiful birds just wondering.

hmmm, did you ask the breeder? a good breeder knows all the "flaws" in their lines (usually) and as long as you are nice I am sure they will tell you

I was told (by Jean) the better whites will be greyish when they are chicks. I had both yellow and greyish looking ones hatch. The leg color will get darker as they get older.

At least I will have a BW roo out of the deal- so I'll have all 3 wheaten colors of roos.

But- I just hatched one beautiful wheaten chick from my own eggs and she's adorable! I misplaced my camera in all the moving chaos, but I'll get pics soon. She has a tiny little "!" on her head, and keeps pecking at everyone's face, including broody cochin mama. Too cute.

A nice blend of two of our finer BYC Ameraucana breeder's stock.
I hatched Blue Ameraucana eggs from Jean last spring and have a nice cockerel I use, and took him to Seabrights Mom Heather Perkins girl, that she gave me last summer. I really like this breeding. Thank you ladies.

I sorta like the color of this girl. She is an early January hatch from the same pair
