no i bred her myself with sq wheaten on wheaten and the parents got 1st at every show the have been to and its a pullet how can i lighten the off spring

Parents look good.Pullet is too dark.Selection is the key.If this is what they normally produce I would suspect the cock of carrying this undetected.A new male may be needed.

I looks like you would have to do some kind of test breeding. Do you have other pullets from this mating? Sorry if you already answered any of this........... I am not sure exactly what you would test breed them with, maybe a proven cock for the hen, or breed back the mom to a son from this guy, or breed his daughter back to him????? I don't know what the best answer is. If he is the only rooster you have access to, and all of his female offspring don't look like the above pullet, just work with him. Just figure out if its him or her. Were these two the only ones in the pairing??? Was there any chance of fence jumping? I don't know maybe another can weight in also...............

Hello! I was hoping you all could help me? I have a rooster that i just got 2 or 3 months ago ( I have him and two hens that i got at the same time. They are about 4 1/2 months old now). And i have been having some trouble with him, he is really scared of me ( i think his first owner was mean to him) the two hens are also not that friendly but he is much worse and i don't know why. I haven't had much time to play with them but they get handled at least once a day and every time i go to get him he tries to go through the fence to get away from me and when i do pick him up he screams very loud, has a melt down, and goes into his own world. Is there anything wrong with him? and Is there anything i can do to help? I'm still new to keeping chickens i have only had chickens for 8 months. What should i do?
