That bird is way over 15 weeks try around 25-27 weeks of age.

You need to get a closer photo.

Any way for anyone to tell if this wheaten roo is show quality? I accidentally happened upon him and a wheaten pullet and have wondered about showing them. I've read the standard but...well...I really don't get it. He is around 15 weeks in this photo

I am not sure about show quality, but, I do like some things about him.
He is more mature than you think.
How much does he weigh?
His legs look green in this picture, but could be the picture or my computer. If his legs are slate, put him in a show and ask the judges questions after they handle him.

Maybe I'm wrong about when I took that last photo. Sorry. He is 27 weeks now (for sure...I got him as a day old). His body carriage is much more like the first photo but he was being silly this morning and couldn't get a great shot

Thanks Delisha. Not sure what he weighs and have no way to weigh him :-( His legs are definitely not green and quite blue, even for slate legs

Both of the bird's tail angle looks a bit too high.

The cockerel has a nice dark beard coming in and body & tail color look good. I don't like the fluff at the base of the tail and you generally get that when the angle is too high.

It was just a crazy idea I had. Don't want to be embarrassed though. I show dogs in conformation and every now and again someone walks in with a pet quality dog and we all just pity them. Don't want to be that person!!

Oh, I think that Jean just means that you should strive to improve on the good traits that they do have. I can't speak for anybody else, but that pair is a good place to start and I don't think that anyone worth worrying about would actually pity you. Poultry shows are not like dog shows, especially at a local level.
