urbanfarmboi: Those look blue wheaten to me. Interesting how pale they are compared to blue wheaten Marans though.

As for the White ones, yeah. . . Easter Eggers. Pretty though. How old are they?

My suspicions are confirmed! I knew that most would agree that they were in fact Easter Eggers but I couldn't walk away without them. When I first discovered EEs I really wanted some solid white birds, so I guess my wish finally came true.

I personally think they're gorgeous. Both pullets are about 4 1/2 months old. I'm hoping that when they reach POL they do lay blue egg. I guess we'll see.

Illia, thanks for looking and weighing in on the pictures. I think the chicks look pale because they're still very young. They were born around the 1st of April, so they're only about 3 1/2 weeks old. I can't wait to see how the two grow out, I'll pick whichever roo has the most potential towards SQ to keep.

Can't wait....can't wait.....don't know how I'm suppose to make it through the day knowing that my lav babies are going to be dropped off at 430 this afternoon!!!!!!!!!!! Like I'll be able to concentrate and work today.......NOT!!!!!!!!

I was looking at my avatar pic yesterday after I read the posts here, and it looks like my white hen has a little yellow in her beak too, so I looked at her when I got home and it's not nearly as yellow as it looks in the picture. Here's a larger pic of the same hen, and you can see her slate leg color a little bit in this pic too. She doesn't have a gray or blue cast to her beak like Jean mentioned though, but I believe this line is dominant white rather than recessive, so I wonder if that would make a difference...?

Not saying she's top show quality, but does anyone see a reason she shouldn't be bred? She lays a beautiful blue egg. I couldn't find a lot of good white Ameraucana pics on the net to compare her to.

Her legs are green too, just a different shade. They both have yellow skin.

VeryCherry, your bird looks like a nice gal. If you have black boy, you can breed him to her. If she is recessive, the chicks will all come out black and the next generation of chicks will produce more whites. Just make sure you mark them and don't put them back in your black pen.
