Just bumping this up. I got varied opinions on Facebook on whether to try breeding with this chick or not. Some say the dark neck feathers are an automatic cull, others say to wait until she is an adult and decide then.
Any thoughts here?

Don't see any saddle feathers, but you should part the feathers at the base of tail to see if they're coming in... 12 weeks a ould be about when they'll be showing up... nothing really showing cockerel, a bit pinkish though... comparing the legs and stance though, I'd almost bet on cockerel, has some very thick legs... As for the purple sheen, idk... I've heard the green sheen is more desirable, but not sure???Ok, I got some better pictures of one of the big blacks so you guys could help me learn how to judge. This one is about 12 weeks old, and judging by the comb I say rooster. I hear you guys talking about sexing by saddle feathers. Is there anything readily apparent in these pics that just screams boy or girl, or is it too early? You can also see the purple sheen, and it's even more pronounced in person. I have seen pictures with the green sheen, that's why the purple is concerning me.
