WOW!

I had no clue! I have 4 of them. I did notice the variation in the green-blue eggs. When I bought them the man told me they were Auracanas.

Halo is that light hen from my eggs?

I have 2 of those. a roo and a hen from last year. (I think we talked about this)
They started out looking like blue wheaten chicks but got lighter and lighter, and now are almost white....
I have kept them because they have outstanding egg color. The roos is just a free range bird now... until I decide what to do with him

Indirectly, it is. The hens I have now are from Jean, the Roo is from you. These white-ish babies have been hatched from these. The oldest one laid a little fart egg with very rich color. Ive sold these 3, but I still have the hen that produced these. She hasnt laid in a while, she's going for the Guiness World Record of longest broody hen. Im afraid I spoiled her fun this weekend by moving her out of her pen to try and break her. She was determined!

I'll try to weigh him soon. I'll also get a better picture while I'm at it. He's already grown since that one, and is looking nice. I think he has a good top line but needs to hold his tail higher, which he might do once he toughens up. Right now he's low man, even though he's bigger than the Lav roo (who is a little small but decent size for a Lavender).

He will hold his tail low because of the dominance issue, but with the silvers a low tail angle on the male isn't a bad thing. Check your pullets and you will see what I mean. They definatly scream "I am leghorn".

Since you'd warned me previously, I keep watching and waiting on the the pullets tails to pop up, but so far, so good. I'll have to get a new pic of them too.

I just read on the ameraucana forum that the Garners are selling their ameraucana flock. No shipping, so if you live close by this might be a good chance to get some good birds.

They have wheaten, blue wheaten, and blue and black birds.
