Oh how nice! I ordered for next spring! I am just wondering how many you ordered what you ended up with rooster/hen or wheaten/blue wheaten!
Out of 17 BBS, I had 9 roosters:1 splash, 2 blue, and 3 black. 8 hens: 1 splash, 3 blue, and 4 blackOh how nice! I ordered for next spring! I am just wondering how many you ordered what you ended up with rooster/hen or wheaten/blue wheaten!

I know you weren't asking me, but I thought you had said you ordered BBS
Thats pretty good! In the past I ordered 25 chicks from a different place and got like 3 hens! No joke! I could have ordered all roosters and saved money! I will be very happy to get 50%!!! I ordered blue/black and wheaten/blue wheaten.
Does Paul Smith have a website? Or how could one possibly order from him? Thanks
Temperament can be pretty important when choosing your males. What is your purpose for the birds? As a backyard flock or breeding for show worthiness? If the flock is just for you, you may want to choose a male that is very calm and friendly. If you are breeding to sell or show I would skip the first lavender male. I think I can see some leakage in his feathers. Looks a bit yellow. He looks better than the other, but that leakage is a flag.
The first picture the hens picked out the splash roosters beard! The second picture is a lavender Roo! Third is blue hen! fourth is lavender roo! 5th is lavender hen! The last picture has a black copper hen mixed in the pic. I don't know what to do! I like the lavender roo in the second picture He's my shadow! I think the lavender roo 4th picture might be the better roo. What do you all think? These are not Paul Smith Birds! All though they started from his birds. I got them from a different person that I believe crossed with other lines!
