Project colors are a special circumstance . Not all projects are popular . I have been known to call some of my own EE in the beginning . I admit to not being a fan of some of the other projects . I want to remain respectful of the effort others put into these projects and hope to receive respect for my efforts . My lavender cuckoo and cuckoo were controversial at first . I called them EE until recently . I have made progress and shown them .
I just dropped a quarter in the slot and waited for the machine to run. I appreciate all this information myselfThank you jerry, ravyn, and sc for the explanation. It helps me appreciate my Easter Egger a little more. Maybe I'll call him a project just for fun. Haha.
There is a guy near me, don't know if you've heard of Pokey's Poultry. He has absolutely gorgeous birds that he advertises as Ameraucana, but they aren't accepted colors. Would that be a project?

He has some really pretty birds, I just feel like it is false advertising. Especially when I am going to be trying to sell the real thing 30 miles awayI literally just minutes ago paid for six Blue/Splash SiAms hatching eggs from Pokey's Poultry.
I used to get a few of these silkied type from large silvers in the 80's . Always culled them early . This seems to be from the stringy gene and different from the silkie breed . So no silkie blood was used . Not sure where or when this entered the breed . Most likely a spontaneous mutation .
Yes. I haven't seen the silky mix, but the ones he calls ameraucanas are really really pretty. Almost pastel colors, and really full muffs and beardsThat's who that CL ad was from? Dang... I've seen them adverting something else...
