Is anybody selling lav eggs or chicks? I don't want to get 25 babies, but I think I have the bator working well enough to risk buying some eggs or maybe a dozen chicks. I already have splits & 1 lav, so I don't want any more splits.

I so want to buy some Ameraucana pulletts from someone close to me(east Tennessee),but I just can not seem to find anyone. If you know of anyone please let me know. Thank you.

Speckled Hen,

I'm enjoying all the pictues and learning. You have a picture of Levi and Tiny along with 2 lovely blue hens a few pages back. You may have answered this before and I missed it, but are they Ameraucanas? If not, what breed are they? Thank you.

I'm trying to plan a trip to Garner's in Ringold GA. The hours are not convenient, but if we can work something out they have BBS & wheaten pullets. Not sure how many are left- I only want 2 or 3 more.

Jean I got the eggs from onthespot. I believe she said white hen and splash roo.
Thanks for sexing them for me. I'm going to rehome them I think. I sure wanted pullets.

The problem is that when Ameraucanas lavender [ or any other breed ] is crossed with blue you are mixing one color [ lavender ] that always breeds true with another [ blue ] that breeds true only 50% of the time . I believe blue Ameraucanas are expected to have a dark quill and darker edging to each feather which lavender works against ; lavender should breed true 100% of the time with one even hue of feathers [ possibly with some occassional unwanted bleed to be culled ] and 2 visually lavender but mixed with blue will produce 25% splash . I would not be very happy to buy a pair of Ameraucanas sold as lavender that sported splash culls 25% of the time . IMHO lavender [ which still hasn't been approoved as a variety anyway ] should be used on blacks only unless somebody has a project in mind , like say isabels , and sellers/buyers should be aware that all other crosses will not work to breed lavender Ameraucanas . Of course the other crosses make beautiful EEs !
