Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Are there any Breeders of Americauna's near Maine? I'd like to raise some but due to cost will probably be easier to buy eggs even if only 50% hatch out. I figure the closer they are the less chance the eggs have of getting scrambled before they arrive.
I have looked on the Americauna Alliance page and the answer there is Nope. Course not sure how often if ever their listing is updated.

The Directory is updated often and the last time was earlier this month.
Hatching eggs making it in the mail without being scrambled is a different story. It happens often, due to the rough handling but there are ways to package them that greatly reduce the risk even when shipped across country. The topic on the best way to package hatching eggs has been covered many times on different forums. The most important part, in my opinion and from decades of experience, is double boxing them. Once you have your eggs boxed, bubble wrap the box and seal it inside a larger box.

Thank you, Big fan of your work BTW. Hoping to be able to start raising some True Americauna's soon. in your opinion which ones are the ones that could use most help?

With large fowl it would be easier to say that black and white Ameraucanas need the least help. They are the easiest color/patterns to breed and will win in a show over other varieties with good competition. All the other varieties have their own individual areas that need more improvement.

Just hatched yesterday
