I am new to the true Ameraucanas, having only had hatchery EEs before, and thanks to this forum, I now know what EE stands for!

I bought some Ameraucana hatching eggs earlier this year. The seller said they were bloodlines from Jean Ribbeck and Paul Smith and that the roo was blue and the hens were black and split lavender. Well I only got 2 to hatch, they are both blue and I'm not sure yet what sexes. Now I just bought some "blue, black and splash true Ameraucana" hatching eggs from another seller. Assuming I get some of these to hatch, is there any chance of getting any lavender if I breed my first ones to this second batch? I don't know how the genetics of these work. Thanks

not unless the second ones carry the Lavender gene. It is recessive so that means you need two copies of the gene not just one.

Mine are all LF.....and they eat like it, too!
