Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Yeah you can just look at a bird and it will just SCREAM EE at you. Sometimes I want to scream that at some people at Open shows who swear up and down that they have Ameraucana/Araucanas. You could show her in the production category at your fair.

Unfortunately some people think that anything that comes out of a blue or green egg is an ameraucana or an araucana. It's hard to convince them any different. Yours is a very pretty EE. I wouldn't plan to show her. Although you could probably get by showing her in a production category, I think she would have a hard time competing against some of the more recognized production layers.

Just enjoy her and the colorful eggs she produces.

Here is my 2 gals. Uno and Emerald.
Uno was the victim of a predator and lost her left wing. I don't know the full story because I bought her that way.
5 months old now...

I'll try and get a decent picture of her this morning!

Can't wait to see her, either.

Here's my bunch. They still haven't grown their tail feathers back from being picked on where I bought them. And the two that lost toes to frost bite, are smaller than the one that has all her toes.

They have such sweet personalities, and are so curious about everything. The lady we bought them from never let them out of the coop, so when we let them free range, they think they are in Disneyland. LOL

They just started to figure out that when I open the coop they can leave and go forage.
