Ivywoods wasn't kidding about the Silvers! My brooder is in the bathroom (the one room where all surfaces can be wiped down; the garage has a dirt floor & there's no basement), and like the chicks before them, they have been promoted from a baby brooder up to a large cardboard box that will be disposed of in a few weeks. Although the sides are about three feet high, they are flying up to the top and then out onto the floor of the bathroom where they then proceed to walk around peeping and pooping until they get bored and fly back in!
Beyond that, I caught one of them flying the length of it - she literally flew from the edge of the cardboard wall to the other end 44" away! They are only 3 weeks old!

I must say, I am really enjoying their antics. I admire their chutzpah.
