Why do they false advertise ?thank you! I'm sure you guys have been asked this question a million timeshow can you tell? Would you happen to know what kind of EE?
because they have been getting away with it forever. Many many hatcheries sell inferior stock, sometimes crossbred for more eggs. Sometimes just not well bred birds. You will almost never get a hatchery bird that can compete against breeder birds. That said I have also seen birds of different sorts from people that called themselves breeders but really didn't know what they were doing. And yes I was burned. So now I know more about what I'm doing, I have a much better idea what my breeds should look like according to the SOP and I cull cull cull and cull some more. Why do they false advertise ?
Each ameracauna variety has a certain appearance as a chick, they will all look the same according to their variety. if they look splotchy, striped, partridge, orangey basically unique from all the others they are easter eggers.thank you! Thank you so much for your information! Seems the more I read the more I get confused. They are both darling one flighty and one snugly ! I will enjoy watching then grow into beautiful girls. Can't wait to see my first egg! Down the line. Maybe next spring I can find a private breeder ?What the others said. And they are just EEs, there aren't different types. Unless maybe you were meaning colors? EEs colors change so much as the grow up you have to wait months to see there final color. You can't expect a black chick to end up black, it maybe black and white. That is the fun of EEs
I guess the variety is what I'm interested in knowing. My two other EE's looked different. Black down the back and across the eyes. Similar colors though. Thank you for helping me! I addicted to chickens nowEach ameracauna variety has a certain appearance as a chick, they will all look the same according to their variety. if they look splotchy, striped, partridge, orangey basically unique from all the others they are easter eggers.
My first 4 were run of the mill. A impulse buy, didn't do any homework ! Learned my lesson. I did read about the 3 different breeds and the false advertisement . I had a feeling going in they were going to be EE. I looked at legs and at that time they looked slate as well as the puffy cheeks. So I thought maybe I got lucky. Either way they are cute and I'm happy! I also have 3 RIR I purchased at the same feed store . Well now in debate if one will be a Roo....I already have my EE perfect Roo he knows his place and is friendly but just the right amount of skittish . Thank you and everyone for your help and knowledge ! Maybe next spring...because they have been getting away with it forever.
