I wonder if there is a chart that has all the other Ameraucana varieties?
Many years ago I breed all 16 recognized varieties (8 bantam & 8 LF) at the same time, but I don't think anyone else has or currently does. My ratings are only of the varieties that I currently breed and only represent my strains of those varieties. Someone else's LF silvers (different stain/line) may not rate the same in all categories and it is all subject to opinion. All varieties have their pros and cons. Blacks are most likely to win over other varieties just because it is an easy color to perfect compared to the others. Overall buffs are the most docile and broody, while silvers are the most flighty.

Oh! Yes! I was asking about the chart that showed the egg size and info on the silvers blacks and lavenders. The one where fowl stuff shared the link! It didn't have like the blues and Wheatens. That was good info.

That's because that info is specific to his own flocks... different lines, varieties and breeding practices will have different results for different flocks...

He has kindly included very specific info for each of his own varieties he is breeding... :)

Right. I had answered that also, but my posts are slow getting posted having to go thru an administrator, because they contain links, before showing up here. It'll be here eventually.

Sorry, I had to backtrack to see your earlier one as well, since mobile likes to skip posts too... thank you very much, sir... appreciate you adding your experience and knowledge very much... :)

Oh! Thank you! Very interesting chart though! I have heard from different people that blues and blacks have better color. I guess that also would have to do with different lines.

Did you see his post? Below?

Actually, I think the reason for blacks and blues being more commonly known for egg color and type has more to do with popularity... as Mr. Blehm stated, they are easier to get correct and have been bred much more widely than other varieties...
