I was talking to a breeder out west - she had gotten a black cockerel late last summer and he wasn't producing at all - I mean, zero. Now, all of a sudden, he's fertile again! Don't know what happened, but hang in there just a wee bit longer. Never know and I'd hate to see you cull that bird now.
I said this on another thread, and I'll say it here. Any rooster that needs manscaping is a cull for meI want to add - Jerry Segler had mentioned to me about trimming around the cock's vent. I didn't do it - ended up, I didn't need to - my rooster was just waiting for warmer weather, it seems. Jerry can explain how to do it, but it might be worth a try.![]()
