Murray McMurrary and Ideal have Easter Eggers. Neither hatchery has any true Ameraucana.does anyone have pictures of ameraucana bantams from murray mcmurray hatchery? or ideal poultry?
Oh pretty!!!
Don't know if it's just me but it seems the BW/B Wheaten variety shows up most on this thread with the bluest of the Ameraucana egg color. I know my BW gave bluer rather than blue-green like my friend's Amer. Our BW was a sweet bird -- she accepted chicks around her and made them feel comfortable when the other breeds wanted nothing to do with them. We lost her in July and miss her.
So sorry for your loss![COLOR=0000CD]Don't know if it's just me but it seems the BW/B Wheaten variety shows up most on this thread with the bluest of the Ameraucana egg color. So sorry for your loss!I love the temperament of our wheaten/blue wheaten/splash wheaten flock. The girls are so calm and friendly. Last year one of my favorite pullets would fly up to my arm and perch on it.![]()
I am excited to see a pretty blue egg color in this year's pullets. I had narrowed down by potential breeders for 2017, and was waiting on them to start laying to see if I would need to do any culling for egg color. I am also excited about the egg color in my self blue/lavender pens. This year's white pullets and blue/black/splash pullets are not quite old enough to lay yet. When we first started with whites, I brought in a couple of different lines and had to do some culling for green eggs. Some of the eggs bordered on olive. They found a new home in our layer flock.Always striving for pretty blue eggs.![]()
I have always "heard" that blue/black/splash lay some of the prettiest blue eggs. On the opposite end, I have always heard egg color is a struggle with silvers. Of course, I am sure that some of that depends upon the bloodline and other variables.![]()
