Hi,
Your Ameraucana's are technically Easter Eggers or "EE's". Many hatcheries and individuals sell EE's and call them Ameraucana's. EE's generally have some Ameraucana blood in them but are a mixed breed.....They are pretty! I have some EE's too, all different colors and personalities.
Reading this forum, this thread and some older locked threads is fascinating and interesting way of trying to understand the confusion on this subject. Also the Ameraucana Breeders Club is a good place to learn the standard for Ameraucana. http://www.ameraucana.org/abcforum/index.php
Question regarding Black Ameraucana.:
How serious of a defect is a couple of white wing feathers? I notice that a few of the black birds in my 10 week old BB/S flock, have a white wing feather or two. I will avoid selecting one of those for the Roo to keep, but if the hens have good egg color and look good otherwise, should I still avoid breeding them?
(I personally am not showing, just seek good egg color and production. BUT do not want to degrade the line from the standard.)

I'd be so happy to accomadate your request about egg color. Now all I need is for them to lay!!!!!
I know, slow maturing breed, ya ya ya. I'll go tell them that you have requested the proof that they lay gorgeous blue eggs. Think it will work?
And yes, the blacks a few pages back are mine. I too love the lavender, but I don't have any of those. (yet) My understanding from what I've read is the blacks are supposed to have the best egg color, but I have no personal experience in that.
My babies that I purchased from Ahappychick back in February. I ended up with 4 pullets and 4 roos. Sadly I will have to re-home 3 of the roos, I just don't have the rooms & my poor pullets need a valium! From the pics below Vegas, Coyote, & Curly are looking for new homes.
Vegas on the left (black roo with the gorgeous tail) and Coyote (black roo that used to sound like a coyote's howl, he actually sounds like a roo now) they are just hanging out with the hens eating sunflower seeds.
Curly on the left, Mercedes on the right.
Better shot of Curly
Coyote
Mercedes with the girls - I am keeping him & I think he is looking forward to being the only roo
This is also, sadly, the only shot I can get of my black hen. She is gorgeous, but I can't get her to stand still!

Beautiful birds, wish we were closer I would take any one of the 3 roosters.
Sadly on my part I cant seam to get any luck hatching blue eggs, I have 2 pullets 1 blue 1 black. No rooster to go with them.
I have tried and tried to get more by hatching a few more pullets and a nice rooster.
My husband thinks that blue eggs wont hatch, I think he is hexing me.
