What color are you looking for? I have an extra black split for lavender- but that won't help unless you need a black, lav, blue or splash. I'm in Bledsoe Country, but I travel to Dayton, Cookeville, and Chattanooga quite a bit.

I am in North West Tennessee, the far corner. I can only travel about an hour one way to either pick a roo up or meet somebody part way. If somebody can come as far as an hour away from me to deliver I'm willing to pay a reasoable price for your fuel. If your in east or middle tennessee and can't come this way, I'm sorry but it won't work. Tractor Supply just got some Americauna chicks in and they are beautiful but I have to buy 6 or none. I really need a grown one not chicks And by the way mine are blue and brown wheaten adult laying hens. Well they would be laying if it wasn't so hot. I can't afford to have him shipped. It would be cheaper if I could meet someone. In our truck it would cost mre than shipping just to come and get him if we traveled to middle or east tennessee.. I want to thank everybody that has made offers from middle and west tennessee but I just can't travel that far in our truck nor can I afford the shipping. If I can't find one by this weekend, I'll buy the 6 at TS. I can get a cockerel and some pullets. I just don't need anymore pullets but hey, they sure are cute.

I think as far west as I can go would be Cookeville, but HBuehler has (I think) 2 white ameraucana roos still left to sell. She's in Lebanon/Nashville area.
BTW- TSC would NOT have ameraucanas- they'd have EEs, if anything.

I know, we spoke already. That's still too far. I have a cousin that lives in that area and if he was coming this way, which he isn't, he would bring him to me. But as my luck would have it. he's on call for I have no ide how long and won't be this way for a while.
Those chicks at TSC are beautiful. Their cheeks are very tufted and they have the slate legs but as far as the combs It's hard to tell. I'd rather get from a breeder. I know the hatchery chicks aren't as good quality as from a breeder and could be mixed. I bought 8 RIR pullets from Rurual King back in the spring and I have 3 or 4 that look to be mixed with speckled sussex. They are very pretty but not what they said they where. And who's to know till they actually grow up? They all looked alike as chicks. They're just about ready to start to lay now.

What variety? And IF for free would you pay shippin and the box?

Wheaten
And as far as shipping, that is why i'm trying to find a local breeder. Shipping is expensive plus the last time I had a rooster shipped to me he was lost for a week. I ended up driving to a post office over an hour away at 1 in the morning to pick him up to keep him rom getting lost again and get him some food and hydration asap. It was a nightmare. Mostly for him. I'd prefer to find a local one but thank you for the offer.

I use Blu Kote on injuries like that. Could have been something tried to snag him, could be he got himself tangled in something. Doesn't look too deep. A little BK a little papmering, he should be fine.
