Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Breaking in here with a new chick question. There are so many different colors/varieties of the ameraucanas, is there any one variety that lays the "blue-est" egg?

The blacks and blues that I got from Lisa (Dipsy Doodle Doo) were the bluest of any eggs I've had...

of course I'm still waiting for 8 W/BW girls hatched in April to start laying....

My Wheaten/Blue Wheaten birds do lay gorgeous blue eggs, they are the only Ameraucana I've ever had though, so I have nothing to compare them to.
Theirs is the egg on the right, obviously.

(ETA: That picture was taken with flash, so it's slightly washed out. The eggs are a nice, even blue color all over.)

Yes, that is a nice blue color. I am seriously considering getting some ameraucanas, and I like the wheatons the best. I was going to just get a few pullets, but I'm thinking now I might go ahead and get a trio or something. That way I could cross the rooster with some of my black copper marans and get some olive eggers as well.
Thanks.

If any one has 1 or 2 LF lavender pullet culls, please let me know. I thought I had a trio but it turns out 2 are roos. DH wont let me buy more eggs until spring but I would like some now so I will have eggs in the spring.

Just had to let everybody know I just got my first eggs from the two pullets from spring eggs from pips & peeps. Got one Sun and one today. They are the most gorgeous shade of turquoise blue...very bright. Not sure yet whether both are laying or just one, but they are pretty!!! wish i could show but have no camera and couldn't load on the 'puter if I did.

Oh, and for the question on egg colors, these are the w/bw and they are very bright colored. Have some bbs babies from dipseydoodledoo but they are too young to lay yet.
