Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Very nice! I like his body and he has a good breast. He's got good color too, not too dark and "pewtery". I think it will take us a few more years to get the tails right.

Can someone let me know how my girls (well I think the blue is a girl, another question I have) are doing?

Jean my Lav is from the pair I got to hatch from you. I lost the little cockerel very early.

The blue is a BBS from rockinpaints.

Tell me I have some decent birds to work with. I also have 2 BBS cockerels, one blue, one black, but they're hard to get a close pic of lately.

Those are some really nice looking Lavenders. Looking forward to a Lavender male from Jean this week. Have a really nice looking black male from Smith but really wanted to make some Lavender babies this coming spring with my two female Lavenders also from Smith from this past spring. Lost my last black female this past week. She went lame and then just started to wither away so I had to put her down as splinting her leg really did not help.

Trying to lock down what breeds and colors I want to concentrate on...not an easy thing to do at all.

This is my cockerel candidate for Pen A. He has the tightest comb of any I have raised. His brassiness is minimal. He's very young and still has much developing to do. He weighs 5lbs 1oz right now. I wish I had some outstanding pure blacks to put him over, but I lost those this summer during the drought of the century in Texas.
