The lacing on his chest is not Wyandotte lacing?
I see no sign that it it. Lacing is present in many breeds, and I have even seen it in Easter eggers from hatcheries (which are almost always EE x EE crosses). Also, not everything that appears to be lacing is actually lacing. It could be leakage or the result of the partridge gene, causing a partial penciling sort of pattern.
Additionally, I would expect more wyandotte traits if that was the case, such as a walnut or rose comb and/or a more defined pattern.

Sally and Esmeralda are very pretty, as are their eggs 😍✨😍 Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! ^^ Esmeralda is a sweetheart, she is very mature and calm. Sally is more bossy, but she lets me pet her when the flock settles for the night. They have unique voices and are inseparable.

I belive it is called " splash laced red."
Not Wyandotte, but it's more likely got a good genetic combo to produce those colors. I'm not an expert though, that's just my guess💙🤗
Not-wyandotte splash-laced red plumage... yup, definitely an EE with the difficulty we have to guess his ancestry xD

That leaves too many likely parents to pinpoint which ones have made him... ahh, the mystery will not crack, it seems.

Does the penciling of the partridge gene carry to all offsprings, or is it recessive and absolutely needs two copies to manifest? I have a Welsumer hen at home, and sometimes wonder what rooster I should mate her with if I want to get colorful offsprings.

The partridge I’m talking about is the penciled type, not duckwing (welsummers are gold duckwing). Depending on what they’re bred to, penciling shows up in different amounts.

Ah shoot, sorry for the mishap. I'm no expert at poultry plumage, I saw the slight penciling on my hen's feathers and thought she had a penciled gene ^^;
