America is on Fire

We've just started a week or so of solid rain, here in Skagit Valley in the NW corner of Washington State. It's helping to clear the smoke from the air, thank goodness. As we're surrounded by high mountains in our remote area, we've already started having the long power outages from falling trees and slides... common stuff here. Friends in CA and OR are still suffering. I wish there were more we could do to help!
How's everything where you are today?

This is just the beginning. As Antarctic ice shelves break free and we lose those glaciers, watch out for the 10' rise in sea levels.

I wonder how many coastal towns and cities will be forced to relocate. How expensive will that be? Towns in the Arctic around the world have already moved to higher ground.

Once the fires abate in the US west, they'll start up again in Australia.
Hi there. How are you today. Has everything settled down.

I am in Santa Cruz. The air quality is still horrible. We had to evacuate and it was horrible trying to house the chickens and ducks. Everything happened so fast. We did not have enough crates for the animals and my husband just put them all in his truck bed (it is covered). They were not happy but it was an emergency. Fortunately, we are all safe now and everyone survived.
However, I think the people that are still at risk, especially in Oregon, might need shelter for their chickens and ducks. I am not sure how you would get it to them, but if there is an organization that would take donations to organize it, I think that would be ideal.
Are you back at home. How is Oregon doing?

I read that there's still fires breaking out in parts of California I do hope you are all safe.

Can you share any updates please?
The Cal Fire map does not show new fires. We are under a fire alert with power outages currently though.

Hopefully no new fires will start, but thousands of people have no electricity currently in Northern California
