I have American Blues a pair when will they start laying? I have a jumbo dog house inside a dog run inside a big pen. the geese have not been very nice to my ducks they think every thing belongs to them. so I don.t let them free range unless I am home. At the moment I have shavings in the house but I am going to put straw in there. I can't wait till spring and green grass and warmth. Thanks judy

My geese are very selfish too they don't like the ducks or chickens, and this time of year with breeding season starting up they are worse. I haven't seen any eggs yet but many have not sure i have seen anyone posting their Buff is laying yet but other breeds are, Are you seeing mating? usually once mating starts eggs aren't far behind.

I use only shaving it's is much more absorbent than straw but everyone has their favorite bedding shavings is mine.

I want to order a pair of American buffs and a pair if toulouse as well. Has anyone gotten theirs from Metzer Farms? Look fairly inexpensive to me. Thanks for the help!

My original pair came from there. Metzer's was great. I have gotten ducks and geese there. My gander is a nice quality bird.

If you are buying waterfowl from a hatchery, metzer's is the way to go.

I really want to get a pair of American Blues or Lavenders. Does anyone know where I can find them? I don't mind getting them online if I have to, but I have not been able to find blues or lavenders. Plenty of buffs, though. I am in north central Texas just for reference.
