American Idol

I know right!? I mean, I just support her cuz she's from my home state but really people? African dancing...screamy voice...NOT our next American Idol.

Well - THAT was definitely unexpected !! I wasn't surprised with the "Save" card being used. I never even thought of it being staged, but my husband said he thought it was as soon as it happened. Who knows. I don't think it really matters at this point whether Casey gets voted off or not - somebody will snap him up in a heartbeat. Sometimes I think they do better NOT to win. Look at Chris Daughtry and Adam and Crystal. I think their careers are a lot further along than they would have been had they won.

Nah .. At this point, the top 10 (11) are the best. They will go on tour .. they will have producers working with them .. and I have no doubt that most of them will end up doing SOMETHING in the music industry.

It was the right decision.. he's clearly a very talented musician and singer .. and they understand that the little chippies that are voting 50 times are out numbering the mature voters that can appreciate his kind of talent.

I'm just afraid that the stress from last nite is going to put him back in the hospital ..

IMNSHO

What I meant by that was what if another REALLY good one ends up in that situation? No more saves unless they change the rules. Besides, IMHO, he'll be gone anyway, or he wouldn't have been there in the 1st place. JMHO

My favorite moment from last nite ..

Pure 5-year-old-sees-santa-clause emotion!

He's so freakin' cute! (James, that is.)

I think to be one of the top ten you have to be able to sing different genres with some degree of success. Casey has one way of singing and that's all we've heard. I don't foresee him cutting records and them being successful in sales. But again...jmo

Oh I totally disagree .. Most great artists are great at what genre they sing. Could you see Michael Jackson doing country .. or Randy Travis singing rock .. or Steven Tyler singing classical ballads?? Nope. That's what makes them GREAT .. at what they do. IMO.

Scotty, Lauren, Paul, Pia, even James .. all have their own style and genre they are comfortable with - and have trouble stepping out of it .

I think Casey will have a great career ahead of him .. it'll be in jazz .. which most youngsters don't understand... nor like. I would buy his Cd's AND go see him on stage.

Nice Tex!!! I was shocked last night and totally knew they would keep him-Thia needs to go-and that other girl singer Niema? gotto go-

Yeah, James seeing Hulk Hogan was classic; really was like a little boy; very moving seeing how thrilled he was. He's still one of, if not, my favorite. Has a great voice, great entertainment factor, and I like his back story.

Naima is cool in that she's unique and individual, but I really don't think her singing voice is that great and don't see her lasting much longer.

I actually don't love Casey as much as others seem to. Don't dislike him exactly, just not super impressed. The ego that Steven Tyler points out is actually bugging me.

Jacob: he's rare and incredible. Don't think he'd be a very "trendy" American Idol, he's a bit beyond his years, but he'll surely have a career.

Haley: I'm hot and cold with her. Sometimes she irks me, sometimes she's good.

Lauren: eh, no real opinion.

Paul: Um, whitest teeth ever! Nice smile, odd unique guy. Don't see him winning, but he's unique and will surely have a career. The only thing that bugs me is how much he sounds like Rod Stewart!

Pia: Sings fantastic, very pretty, well poised and all that.... but BORING as heck. She bores the heck out of me. I want to like her, I do, she's very talented, but a total snore-fest in my opinion. She seems to have almost no personality. And BYW, I'm pretty sure Ryan is infatuated with her.

Scotty: Well, as far as country goes, he awesome. I am not a big country fan, but he has an incredible country voice, and I'm sure he'll be scooped up in a minute even if he doesn't win.

Stefano: Bleck! I don't see it. Don't get it. A couple of times he's impressed me, but for the most part has been quite lame. He looks like "Joey" from Friends, lol. But I think he is far from the most talented and see him going home soon.

Thia: Snore. Sorry, but she's boring. She does have a very nice voice, and I think she'd be great doing musicals on broadway or something. But I don't see her winning, AT ALL.

Bottom line for me, James is my favorite so far, and has been from the start. And for the record, I had to totally look up all their names from the website, I did not know them all by heart!
