Hehe that is too sweet of her!! She must adore them too.
Once we started our hobby we moved to the beautiful Selkirk mountains to raise our birds in peace. We are on 16 acres here with a creek running through our property packed full of brook trout and we have a little deer nursery. We are butted up against the Pend O'rielle wildlife refuge. It is so peaceful here - a little peice of heaven. We are going to buy another property around here. You should move to Washington! Land is really cheap right now and all of the houses above ours are for sale. We were looking at 40 acres with a natural spring, creek, and cabin for only 40k. We could be neighbors! LOL but you wouldn't be able to grow your gorgeous fruits without a greenhouse...
My hubby and I are interested in buying some cows and horses but we probably won't do that 'til the kiddos are grown. Right now I have my hands full with my birds, kids, and greenhouse and hopefully our 4-H group soon.

Well I told my wife once the boy is off to college I'm buying a farm and then she said I'm crazy ... But she was scare the other day when she saw I was giving up all my breeders ... She told me I didnt have to get rid of them . That I can keep as many as I like lol ... Gotta love that women .. she thought that I was giving up the hobby ... Then I told her look around the yard we have 200 cockerels and pullets to raise and we needed the room .. also if it helps others why not right ...

I'm calling it a night! I'd better get out to the coop to sneak a peek at everyone and then hit the hay so I can be up in the morning. :) It's snowing so I need to check the heaters and make sure it's nice and warm for the chickies. Good night all!
Ken - it's been a pleasure as always. Will talk to you tomorrow! Thank you for the pictures, updates, and good conversation.

I would like to encourage more people to post photos of their Silkied Serama. They are lovely unique birds (both in appearance and personality) and deserve more recognition. This bird appears black in photos, however, he is a chocolate black. He is producing beautiful offspring in silver fawn and also chocolate duckwing...I will post photos of them when they are a little older. In the meantime, lets have a 'silkied fest'.

That is just about the prettiest sight I've ever seen. I know how tiny yours are June and to get such lovely type and style that small shows your hard work not to mention your love and devotion to your lines. No red leakage there either! Awesome :)
