American serama thread!

50/50 on frizzle to smooth and you wont know they are a frizzle for a few days to a week or so. They look smooth when hatched. Congrats!
Thanks RedRoosterFarm. That particular bunch of chicks just are a week old but only the one has wing and back feathers coming in that are curled up.
None of the others are showing any of the curled up feathers. Dang! was hoping for more.
Oh well I just sat a Doz. eggs from my tiny Class A pairs under a broody. Something new to spaz over...lol

give it time. They might sneak up on you. One day no frizzle and the next bam! There they are.

I'm sure you all would be able to answer a question I have: I'm looking for a tiny Serama. Am I reading correctly that the tiniest is Class A? Are the smaller birds more delicate to care for or do they have shorter life spans? I was just interested in her for a house pet not for breeding.

Yes, there are micro and they are like 6 oz and usually dont produce. They die at a few years old usually too.

Thank you,RRF!
That would be sad to have a sickly little thing that doesn't live very long. What's the average life span for a healthy, normal sized Serama? Are there health issues these tiny birds are prone to because of breeding for size?

I have a class A and a class B. They are healthy and happy!
Thank you,RRF!
