American serama thread!

The weather has been so pretty that my serama's got to go outside finally. They are not thrilled with it, lol. The bigger birds scare them. I have an empty pen with a heat light ran though, so I'm thinking about moving them out as long as it stays mild.

My seramas just started laying here. I am going to incubate some, most likely will end up with golden wheatan, golden duckwing, silver duckwing, of couse I am guessing.

Ok what did I miss? I live so far in the boonies I cant get a signal sometimes days at a time. I took ur advice on rehoming my roosters thru a feed store. The owner gave me a phone number of a farmer and he wants my roosters so they r getting homes. Thanks for that idea.

They change so much as they are growing up. I had a chick born on Halloween (Boo) who was all yellow with a chipmunk strip going down her back. As she started feathering out the color was changing to a speckled browm. The one day I walked in and I didn't even recognize her she had literally changed colors overnight.
One of mine looked just like Boo, and she became speckled brown, and is now looking buff! A few blends of a darker color seem to be happening on her tail and wing tips?? Still changing, LOL

Awww, I think chickens just love going outside, They'll be so happy if they have a place that's safe, I'm sure!
CluckCluck:One of my boys started out jet black, and one day I noticed the same color in the hackles. He turned out to be a Wheaten. It was so much fun guessing from day to day!
That'd be so cool too! He is a sweetheart. Love the way he struts, LOL
I just read a little way back and I think good Christmas names could be santas reindeer. I plan on naming mine Christmas themed names too. If they hatch.

Awesome idea, Alexandra!

Hey! It's been a while since I've posted here, but I have a couple of pics to share! I had some Castle Delight eggs hatch a while back, and
the babies are now about 10 weeks old! 6 hatched, and I have 2 boys that I just absolutely adore!

Anyone have any idea on what to call these colors? :)

Hee hee, I like Gorgeous and Handsome as well, and I'm jealous, you got a frizzle!!! LOL. Well, I'm getting some eggs that might have a frizzle in them for the NYD hatchalong :) Hopefully, I'll get lucky

I have a chick hatching as I type this!!! It pipped sometime last night. Her name will be Noel because, as the song says "The first Noel...." I messed up last night and tried to candle a couple eggs, checking for internal pips. The metal marble plug got bumped and rolled in, right onto an egg. There is a hairline crack now, so that one will be named Miracle if it makes it out!! Lesson learned, I'm hands off for the duration now.
