American serama thread!

The two that died I think were both from Berry and Toy, her eggs are still quite small, so it may just be genetics, Berry is quite small to begin with though. Easily the smallest hen I have. I mis-marked an egg of hers I think because it started hatching today!!!! So I may have one more chance at a Berry baby! But I think I will stop trying to hatch her eggs for a little while. When I opened up all the others, every single one was fully developed, or just short of fully developed but never pipped! A dozen babies that just mysteriously died in the egg. So unfortunate. I have all the birdies I think I can handle for now though, so Berry's eggs will just be breakfast for a while!

Did Berry's and Toy's chick one of the ones that died? They are both really young yet and as you say she is small that is what makes her one of the best ones.

Yeah it did =( It was really sad! I was so bummed! But it is their egg that is pipping RIGHT now. So I have one more chance. Then I think I will hold off on hatching any more of their eggs to give her more time to mature. She is an awesome layer though! Every single day! She even laid twice in one day. They are such a joy.
I do love her size! I was just thinking that maybe her eggs are small because SHE is so small. Everyone that meets her wants her! You hatched one heck of a beautiful pair Fuzzy! I love them to death!

Hello. I'm new to the thread and bread. I have a wonderful black Serama boy that is SO sweet! I love to hear him crow in the mornings. I also have a bantam frizzle girl. She looks to be a brown black back barred color. Do you think these two would make a good breeding pair? Do Serama's only mate with one hen?
Thanks for any info.

One of my cutest chickens was Cochin/Serama cross. Seramas will mate with however many hens they can handle, though some are more prone for breeding than others are. Just know that since they will be crosses they may not sell, but then again, everybody loves frizzles right now, it seems to be a fad. Hope this helps.

You can take my picture, but I'm just gunna lay down and ignore you!

This Ferdy being difficult yesterday. He has excellent type when he isn't being difficult, lol.
