American serama thread!

Wild Works, those are very pretty babies. I love the full-grown hen's color transition on her head!

Can anyone help me find out how old these seramas are? None of the girls are laying yet, and none of the boys have saddle feathers.

This is Liam.
He is the second-biggest male.

This is Iris. She is the second-largest girl.

This is Sligo (Sly-go). He's already trying to crow (its THE funniest noise I have ever heard come out of a chicken
lau.gif
)He is definitely the oldest male
There is also a female about the same age as him it looks like, but I couldn't get a good pic of her

This is Kermit. He is definitely the youngest male.

This is Margallo. She is definitely the youngest female.

I know its a long shot to find their ages accurately but I don't think Sligo is anymore than 10 weeks (2 1/2 months).

Thanks

I think your guess is about correct. Some look to be 1-1/2 months old. Where did you get them from?

Thanks!
I got them from a woman near Brampton, Ontario. She got her eggs from a woman IN Brampton, Ontario. I didn't know they matured so fast! I had EEs that were two months old and still had a ton of down!
How old do you think the youngest is? I just like knowing how old my chickens are :)

What kind of troubles do people have with hatching serama eggs with large fowl eggs? I have heard that barely any serama hatch, while most of the LF do. If I incubate serama eggs, I would need more than 4 or 5 tiny eggs to keep the incubator from having crazy fluctuations... Anyone have experience with good hatches of seramas from incubations of serama and LF eggs?

We
Have more serama then we know what to do with we hatched so many an our hens just keep spitting them eggs out even had some hatch in yard so cute
We hatched ours with polish an ee eggs no probs

Hi all,
Wanted to add another pic of Junior. His parents are from Sunshine Seramas in SC. He most definitely does not have the perfect carriage by Serama standards, but then again, he is a pet and I have not worked with him on stature etc. I just love showing him off as he is such a handsome little guy!

Could two of these chicks be a serama just wondering cause i have look everywhere and the two up there both have feather feet so if u know what breed they are please tell me thanks..

I'm assuming you have three chicks pictured. The first looks almost exactly like my pullet Hermione. But the black one does not look like a serama at all... The third one may be a serama/old English game cross - see the white feet? I'm not sure what you mean by feather feet - Seramas typically aren't supposed to have feathered feet I don't think. The black one almost looks like a black cochin I'm fostering but without the feathers on its feet... Good luck finding out the breed of that one!
