Yes, they're the ones looking like they're having a very bad feather day. They're fluffing up more and looking better now.
This one may not make it to see 5 wks if it doesn't stop fighting. He only fights with one other chick and it's bigger than him. He's already getting time outs on top of the cage to give the other one a break.

It was more like...OMG where am I going to put them?

Yep, Charlie's a watch dog but only watches chickens!! Dottie the Black and Tan, Longhaired, Double Dappled, Mini Dachshund lets me know when any chicks are chirping before they hatch in the incubator....my helpers.

Spence was the runt of 14 hatched in Jan. and for a while I wasn't sure he would make it but he's a tough little guy and after a few days he was jumping in the middle of them all. He looks so full of himself but he's such a sweetie.
This is him at a couple days old.

Juliette, I blame this all on you...I caught the hatching habit from you!!

Is there any hope of recovery ?

Here are two of the pullets I kept from Bo and Layla. They're the mothers of some of the chicks by Spence.
They're just two month old in these pics. I'll get more when everyone is through molting.

i probably have too much patience... when i'm incubating and after lock down, i forget about it... i just go to my room, and hear a ruckus in the bator... look thru the window, and walk away... then a day or so later, then i start to worry about how to take them out and where to put them... LOL... but i read about people staring at the window... i can't do that... i don't think i've ever seen any of my chicks break out of the egg...

maybe i'm doing it wrong...

I have two eggs under a broody .. One hers & one a bantam Cochin .. Ohh I can't wait .. I came home from work Friday & found it out from under her & cold , I was for sure it was done for & tonight a pip !!!!!
