I'm getting some chicks today that are half silkie and half serama. My little roo even has leg feathers!!
Today I finally came to the realization that my little serama baby is in fact SILKIED!!! I can't believe it. I have been dying for silkied seramas and have no idea where this little dude came from because I have no silkied serama in my flock. I'm over the moon ecstatic. He's 4 weeks old now. Of course he is a male but at this point I don't care! I've been staring at him for the last 2 weeks, questioning myself on what I thought I was seeing, thinking I was just wishful thinking. Somewhere, somebody is carrying the silkie gene and I am just thrilled. He's a little black and white mottled boy and is so handsome! His surrogate mom is a cochin bantam that is mothering him, another serama, 2 large fowl orpingtons and a porcelain duccle. There are now 5 broodies in the serama house so I have given them all eggs in hopes of another little silkied babyPictures to come tomorrow

Hope my babies do fine! So far just one egg. That was two days ago. I am still learning so much! First year of my chickens I had Polish. Second year I added Silkies, and toward the end some Cochins. Now I've got the Serama (Which was a spur of the moment when I was offered the trade) and don't know very much about them. Just that they came from a breeder who gave the shots for medication, said they were very healthy, and 'class a' hopefully they'll be able to breed fine! My friend has their siblings and is incubating some eggs of theirs and they're developing great. I haven't shown any birds yet, but am planning to in the future. Have several SQ birds, and am looking for a show close. Oh, and here's some pics! First is the roo, named Cliph (Pronouced Cliff) Second is a terrible pic of the pair and third is the hen, Anastasia
