American serama thread!

The main reasoning I am guessing heart because birds are more prone to heart related deaths. Perhaps said birds have a heart flaw that we don't know about?

Has anyone done a biopsy on a bird who died with this?

Hoping to actually get Seramas (Yes, the creator of the thread has never had seramas

) this year coming up so this is something that peeked my interested.

I technically have a 'land race' experiment going on in my backyard with Serama X game bantams rofl the closes thing to a serama I got

I will hoping for blacks and later on self blues if I can find them! If I have to I'll cross my self blue OEGBs to them to get it...

I am new to Saramas how do you know if your birds a class a or B? my cock around is really tiny my pool it is a little bit bigger and longer doesn't stand so high. Do I need to weigh them? To buy them diapers anyways I'm assuming I would just buy the Bantam sizes if there Velcro

You will have to weigh them in ounces. If you look online it will say te classes and what they can weigh

I got two serama hens. Both are old enough to lay. But, it's winter here and the days are short and cold. One of them though has been making a nest for two weeks! So she should start laying soon, right?

My serama showed no indication with behavior that they were going to lay eggs. I look to comb size, wattles, and redness. Eggs have soon followed when the physical signs have been evident.

she has a red comb face wattles. she has been sitting in the nesting box and doing the egg song. she even gave up free range time and ran in the coop and sat in the nesting boxes. she has also been squatting.
