I see you made it home in one piece...How are the new-bies faring? It was SO cool spending the day with you and Clayton and Joey too. A 3 for 1 day. Can't wait to see pictures of your new baby from Kate.......
Here are Phyllis with Tippy and Pippy. They got to move to the grow out pen with a heat lamp, because the brooder on the porch was getting too much rain. We had it covered, but it was getting damp. So now they are in a big dog crate with wood panels on two sides, the wall of the house on the third side, and only the front where the door is open. Much warmer. Phyllis is so good with the chicks, she's like a mini mom! She gets both of them under her wings and sleeps with them there
Oh egg#3 has a pip now ... I think I wrote the lockdown wrong, should have been 7/29 not 7/27. There is another egg with a pip too, so probably two more chicks tomorrow. Then three more waiting to pip, they are lockdown for 7/30 and 7/31, so they should be pipping in a day or two also. So fun!!! We don't have anywhere cool enough, but not too cold to store eggs, so since we have two incubators, we just are doing groups of lockdown, even if one or two go in a day or two early. With my first serama hatch, the breeder had me put them in lockdown 4 days early and I had a good hatch rate, so figure it won't hurt now either.
Pippy is under Phyllis' wing in this one.
Here's tippy scratching an itch. Oh, Tippy hasn't been falling over any more - Yeah!!!
