I am curious how much they charge for the necropsy and how long it takes. I had rooster I was considering taking in for the same thing a while back, but my husband euthanized him and disposed of him before I could get him sent off to the KSU lab. DH was doing me a favor by doing it. He knew I couldn't bear to, and didn't want me to know he was doing it so I wouldn't be thinking about it, but then I wasn't able to send it to the lab, so I never found out for sure what the problem was.

I will be interested to hear what they have to say.

My sincere condolences to you.

I got a PM from Chicklettes this morning: She is one tough cookie! She is pulling through - upset of course for good reason, but she says, "I don't give up easily". In the meantime there are lots of wonderful people here to offer her support - lets keep her and her birds in our thoughts! She is very intelligent and is handling her situation properly - even has plans for autopsies if needed. She's doing all she can for her beloved birds. She's a wonderful serama mama.

I mostly get beige, white, brown, and some light "pinks" from mine - depends on the colors! My whites lay white and cream eggs, my BBR, gingers, wheatons, and buffs lay pink and beige, and my blacks and birchens lay light browns.

Once again i thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers for my birds. So far, the rest are all standing on 2 legs! I am checking them several times a day for my peace of mind. Hope we all learn a little from this experience.........as far as symptoms and such because nothing can actually be done if they have this disease. I hope my other remaining birds are stronger and if they can get to 7 or 8 months I think their resistance will be better. I am going to love whatever I have left and be thankful for them! Love you all for your help........now we will move forward with some happy posts and more photos of birds!! I will however post the results and costs for the necropsy as requested.
How are the New Years hatch bunch doing? Mine seem to be cooking away. I have been so busy that I haven't candled all of them but the one I did looked good. Hope everybody else is getting ready for a nice hatch also. Good hatching luck to all of you.
