American serama thread!

New pics taken today of my July 2, 2012 babies! I think they are adorable. :D I might be biased.

Starting off with Sephiroth, the smallest of the bunch. He is my little man, and I love this little guy!

Then Alice (named after Alice Cooper) who is actually the LARGEST of the bunch, and with Seramas, largest is relative LOL!

Dali, my handsome white mottled/tricolor boy...he wanted to sit on my hand for his photo!

Slash, the bi-colored black and white boy (love his pattern)

Marilyn the silkied baby (fluffster deluxe!!)

Ava, who hated the photoshoot... crouching is the best thing to do when you're pretty sure you're gonna be eaten by the flashy box Mom is pointing at you

and Raquel, who was just as excited about having her picture taken. My girls do not enjoy paparazzi.

Aschenfire, I wanted to let you know that this post was the one that sold me on seramas :) Have a dozen or so coming for NYD hatch-along!!!!

But, but, but you have to do the NYD hatchalong!  LOL  Nah, seriously, congratulations, how lovely!

Well,my Mille Fleur D' Uccle Roo has finally started doing his job, and my Mille Fleur pullet just started laying 2 weeks ago, so.....
Where do I go to sign up?

I'll be around a laptop Sunday, so finally able to post my baby pics!! I swear I'm headed straight to Best Buy at tax time!

Awwwwww that is wonderful! I'm glad my babies could be good ambassadors for the breed :D
They're all grown up now, or at least older. Still under 6 months old. Raquel and Ava will have eggs in the NYD hatchalong too!

Whee! It's going to be serama city on New Year's Eve!!!

Hey Kukupecpec: Congrats on the new coop. My signal died after I typed some ideas about using the dresser for a brooder... Just a thought have you considered laying it down and dividing it up to create different sections? I know it may be easier having the babies at one level that way and just a thought since you seem to have some good spare wood to use to fix it up. Putt a little wire and plastic and there you go! Easy access and easy to keep tidy and warmer for tiny babies ans so on.

Thanks! I think they are really loving it! They still get to come inside and play and they still go to school with me weekly, but I think Taco is really enjoying all the great outdoor room to strut and crow.
Lay it down how? Like down on its back? My only concern with that is that I will be leaving the brooder outside - I will have multiple heat lamps and plastic over the wire in the winters so the babies don't freeze - and I wouldn't want outside materials like leaves and rain pop right in through the wire mesh on top.
On the tipping note - If I turned it on its side so it was a tall dresser and split it into two that way, how many babies do you think could live in each of the compartments? I certainly don't want to over crowd, although I will never have more than a dozen babies at a time since that is all my bator will hold haha.

Yea I wasnt sure but use the various slats of wood from the drawers and make a lid and divider so it stays snug but it is a cool idea however you fix it up. With the insides set up with removeable like divided sections it would be easy to house a dozen even at different aged babies and such. Do post some pix when you get it fixed up too.

So I went ahead and enlarged the pictures. What does everyone think of her? Should I show her, or would it be a waste of my time? She is 6 months old.

Yes, she is missing lots of her tail feathers thanks to my Cochin. They have grown back a lot though. And, of course, she did not like the photo shoot this morning.
