I think the single one looks like a pullet..........only going on how beautiful her eyes are..........

Is she frizzle.see little feathers sticking out.??????????

Ona............I hope you will keep us updated on your chicks.they are all lovely.
I am most interested in the ones with the silver head and how thier color finishes out. I have never seen that color chick .

Also Ona.the 64 behind my name is the year I was married, not the year I was born..lol.

Nice the thread did not get popped......good grief.to many Serama threads have been lost because of B.S.....
and I really enjoy just loving our chickens together and sharing the fun.

I noticed the feathers for the first time today and am wondering the same thing. She came from one of Bheps eggs so we shall see in a few weeks.

Don't look at me, they aren't mine! Cute as the devil, though, and I can't wait til my new eggs arrive and get hatched out by my uber-reliable crossbred hen Peepit, who really proved herself today. Something last night ran her offf her nest (not usually possible even by me), scattered her eggs, and I HAVE A DOZEN COMING IN THE MAIL FOR HER!! I was desperate, spent about two hours chasing the poor girl around, finally caught her and she was so very stressed, just cuddled like mad (she was a mealworm-raised lapchicklet). Put her nest back together, showed her, and she shot back on there like nobody's business. Half Serama, half Bearded Belgian d'Anvers and crazy to set ALL. THE. TIME. Which is a blessing. Love that hen!

Getting new Seramas in the next few weeks is totally THRILLING...two from Jerry S, and eggs from CastleDelights Seramas...and I get to go to the show on March 3 in Madera, CA too!! My roos are going to be tickled pink with al lthe new gurls to pal around with.

EGGScellent choices on birdies! There is a show in Madera CA on the 3rd? What type of show is this? I know there is a SCNA sanctioned Serama show in Manteca on the 2nd, but do now know about this one.

Argh!! Mistyped! You are right, it's in Manteca. They are so close I tend to think of them, and Turlock, kind of as one big area (no offense, sorry)...LOL!

Hi guys, I could use your help / opinions...

Ok, I had it good before the New Years Day hatchalong, LOL. I had a nice group of Seramas, 3 girls and 1 boy, all growing up together and very sweet. Then I hatched out two more cockerels. I don't know how to house them anymore. I don't want to split up the original friends, they free range around the back yard together so nicely, they're so happy! But what/how do I integrate the two cockerels? Do I keep them separate in a bachelor pen the rest of their lives? I could give each male a female, but then the running around freely would have to end. They wouldn't even be able to share a run together! I don't see how I can make a happy home for my new boys without braking up the happy home my group of 4 are currently enjoying.

It's so sad! Do you think, with Seramas, that they could live together, the 3 pullets and 3 cockerels (2 of which are still growing up) As I understand it, the roos will never get along, especially with so few hens.

Any suggestions? Thanks for any help!
