Just having a busy day......cleaning cages and setting up roo's and pullets for breeding.
Oh, how I wish I had a black roo.........
Lock down is Wendsday and I already know what I will be doing for days..........
Getting a flat nose from watching ..never gaets boring..............
Hatching RR, English Orps and , of course, Seramas
For getting humidity up.I run about 60 or a bit above.
When I am having trouble getting it up.I add a wet folded wash cloth to the bottom of the incubator.............
I am sure it has been discussed that it is the wet area that is important.not the depth of the water in the trays.
Good luck all that are hatching...............

Hi, my Serama hen, Josephina, just hatched her first eggs! So far 3 have hatched and there are still 4 more eggs, so maybe more will still hatch. Do I have to do anything different for these chicks like crush their food or something? I've never had baby Seramas before:)

Don't ya'll go laughing at that little guy. He thinks he hot stuff and the big man in town!

Funny! Our duckwing cock we got from you in 2011 sure thinks he's hot stuff. He's hilarious to watch. My daughter named him Sir Henry. Last night I was trimming his nails while he stood on my knee and he crowed right in my ear. Ow!

I grind up medicated chick starter and corn scratch into much smaller pieces. i use the smaller food for several weeks, gradually working up.

Whatever you do, pebble that water source!! I have lost more chicks to drowning than to any other cause. You'll think you got it right but it's still too deep. This round, I'm trying the use of a classic caged-bird water tube with the narrow water reservoir, hoping to prevent disaster.

Peepit, my hen, used it immediately and seemed to just love it. We'll see--tomorrow is Hatch Day...!
