Ok me an my mom are about to take a trip to vashire la to pick up some serama chickens from a man who says he a founder of the breed any one know anything on this subject

Just candled the little buggers again -- looks like I have ONE lonely baby (the other 7 from that batch have stopped developing) ready to hatch in a few days, and I think 8 of the 18 that Laura sent are still chugging along....pulled 5 tonight that were definitely not developing and 5 more we are watching for another 3 days before deciding if they are still developing or not. I am trying not to focus on the negatives...and to be HAPPY that I have a possible total of 9 babies that are doing well so far!!

I know I'd love to go with you! :)

Jerry S. is indeed the original importer of Serama into the US, and he has some VERY nice birds out there. I would suggest that you know before you go if you want to show in the ABA/APA format--it makes a difference in what type and color of birds you choose. SCNA's tabletop style is utterly forgiving of color, but not of type and character (and of course major problems are a no-no!). Know what you want, know your standard(s), don't be afraid to take your time or to bring the standards with you to compare.

I'm still hoping to attend the TT show (SCNA semi-nationals) this weekend in Manteca, CA....it will be my first show and I just KNOW I'm going to wind up bringing something home...! :)

The birds that Jerry shipped to me a few weeks back are very nice, and a welcome addition to my flock.

What do you think the girl on the left is saying to him? That one would be good to caption
