Marking the size of the air cell is a way of checking for correct weight loss and so you can adjust your humidity as needed by visual inspection of air cells. If the incubation humidity is too low (very dry conditions), the air sac will be larger than normal and the humidity in the incubator should be increased to reduce the rate of water loss. If the air space is smaller than normal then the opposite applies.

Just got my first pair of Seramas. They arrived yesterday from CA to VA from OCSeramas. I love them already.

Be careful; Seramas are worse than potato chips.....MORE MORE MORE!

Well, it's possible I could end up with three. There was a little egg in the shipping carton that she apparently laid during the trip. It was in perfect condition, so I put it in the incubator to see what happens.

Well, in 4 years time, I went from 2 to 23! I am holding at that... ( I hope)

Good Luck! I hope you get that third one! And if you need,or want, some fertile eggs... I can provide! Mine are laying like crazy!

We have been waiting for a year, and one of the Serama hens finally went broody!

We set 7 eggs with her on Monday night.

I have heard conflicting info about incubation time. Is it 19 days or 21 or does it vary? Will a broody hatching eggs make a difference in the timing?



Yay, she's broody!


My son labeled the eggs and "fed" them to her one at a time, after taking away her very warm golf ball.



So many eggs, so little room.



No more golf ball for you!



Oh boy, an egg!!! She quickly tucked it away.

It's tight, but they all fit.



We have to check the nest daily because another hen lays her eggs here.
She just has to, for some reason!

She doesn't like being disturbed, but doesn't bite. Good girl!

This is the papa with one of the "egg donors."



The rooster goes in to check on the broody several times a day.
He is very gallant and attentive.

I need advise, I ha e the incubator going and the temp stays 98-99 but I cant keep the humidity between 50&55 it goes to 35 at night. How can I fix this.
