Hi everyone!
I have been on BYC for several years, but just recently got introduced to Seramas when my granddaughter bought a handsome little cock at Ohio Nationals last year. She uses him for showmanship and I have to say he is the proudest, showiest little fellow I have ever seen! We had such a terrible winter in NW Ohio that I kept him in the house all winter. Kayleigh got another little cockeral at a show two months ago, so now she would like to raise Seramas for her 4-H project. She seems to really be getting into the raising and showing, so I want to be the best Nana ever and find her a pullet and a hen or to get some eggs and I will hatch them for her in my incubator.
I am willing to drive up to 4 hours one way to pick up a couple little girls for her so if anyone in the Michigan/Indiana/Ohio tri-state area can help me out, please contact me and I will make arrangements to pick them up.
If you are further away and are comfortable with shipping, that would be good too. I am always a little scared to send them through the mail, but if you know how I will trust experience.!
Our cock, Bosco is the most beautiful black and white mottled or almost barred looking and our cockeral, Buster is mostly black with a few lighter brown saddle feathers.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Anyone know of any breeders around NY state area that breeds black and white mottled? If not anyone know who might ship some birds?

CONGRATULATIONS! Seramas are VERY addictive :D There are ALOT of serama owners that keep their birds in the house, it is perfectly NORMAL :thumbsup I have 3 that come in at night year round. You can go on the American Serama Association website www.americanseramaassociation.com and see if there is anyone around you. :yesss:

P.S. JLaw, check out this website too in your search for mottled. :D

Well Friday is lock down. I checked a couple of the eggs that came from my birds, and I could see veins and heard beat. I really hope more than two hatch.

I have four hens all setting on 10 eggs or more and they are due to start hatching any day...hope they have a good hatch rate....my only other hen has 12 eggs in her nest box but she refuses to go broody, I don't know what the deal is?
