Hello! I have two Seramas Tywin and Uma. You can see them in my avatar. I am so happy to be a part of BYC! You guys have gave me all my chicken knowledge. I will try to get better pictures hopefully soon. I will have to figure out how to do it first but oh, well I guess.

Thank you! I love them they are so sweet. I was wondering how do you get eggs to stop being soft. Other than oyster shell and Tums. That is what I am using right now. Oyster shell didn't work I don't think and I have been putting Tums into their water. I am going to try both soon.

How old are they? Some hens just have softer eggs in the beginning regardless of calcium intake.

They are not even a year old yet. Somebody I know has gotten little chicks due to hatch today. Serama babies and serama mommy laying on them. She got the sister and brothers from the ones I have. They are either half brother and sister or full brother and sister, same dad. So that might be it.

As for food I am feeding them Nutrena Nature Wise Layer Feed 16% Crumbles.

Try crushing some egg shell into small pieces and offering them that.

Might help them firm up a little faster.
