American serama thread!

This video was last night. She's no where near the kitchen & I don't keep Teflon anything because of that very reason. Had a parrot & house duck for years so in addition to my health I wasn't going to risk theirs. My mom killed her finches when a Teflon comal burned after she didn't turn the heat off completely.
It doesn't look like Teflon poisoning to me, but I've never seen it in chickens; thought it worth asking. Has the behavior stopped?

Shes adjusting her crop....its normal.
Thanks hun! She's my first serama so I wasn't sure if this is normal or not.

How many of you keep your seramas inside the house or garage? How many of you keep them outside?
What's your reasoning for either or?
I'm scared to let mine sleep outside but they are out during the day. Boy are they excited to see me when the sun is setting. I had them in a smaller bird cage. It's time to upgrade any body recommend a good inside hutch or small coop? She's starting to spend more time of the roost and down on the bottom. Her face is red and her pelvic bone are 1 1/2 fingers. My big girls lay at 2-3 fingers. She has to be close to laying!! Thanks again !

I keep my seramas outside. They seem to do fine. But, then again I live in California and we have mild winters. I keep them outside because my house is to small to accommodate them. I suppose I could keep them in the garage, but it has almost no ventilation. They do fine outside. I check combs everyday and apply aquafor as needed

My cockerel Has a HUGE comb, and it sometimes turns blue, and I put aquafor on it and within an hour it turns back to red

Please read! I had my youngest Serama pair in a collapse able dog crate temporarily. I was feeding and heard loud chirping. Luckily I checked on them. I found them smashed up against the screen of the cage after is collapsed. Luckily that was where they were pushed up against or else they may not have been able to breathe. Everyone came out safe and sound, just a little scared. So please DO NOT use one of those dog crates.
I would hate to see it happen to someone else's bird and the birds not be so lucky.

My girl stays inside the house in a huge Living World cage during the day with toys in the living room when I'm at work, in a diaper out when I'm home & in a tank at night on my night stand. I have 3 eggs in lock down & those guys will stay inside also.

My serama roo use to live outside. He did lose his prongs and half his toe tips due to frostbite when he was a chick well a younger cockerel. He could still walk etc. until a dog killed him in november.

where did you find such small diapers? That's been most of my problem. Following them around. Love the coop!
