For me it is always fun to see other people's birds. Our cell phone takes pretty good pictures if the object is the right distance away and nothing moves and the light is right. So, all in all, most of our pictures get deleted as garbage.

Sorry that my pics never fail to be more than terrible I don't have an actual camera and my iPod takes garbage pictures. Anyway, here they are... Rooster in the middle is the one that used to be a 'pullet'. He usually stands straighter but doesn't appreciate having his picture taken. This guy's looking good. Getting in some straight sickles, and I caught him today standing with his tail touching the back of his neck Here's another of formerly Harriette now Harrington. This guy still can't hold still I'll try and get some of the girls and the third rooster later. They're all feathering out nicely and seem to have great form!e

I'm looking forward to seeing the video. I also had a "pullet" turn into a rooster. Late bloomers are a pain, but in this case I'm thrilled as I was hoping one of my avatar frizzle's chicks would be a rooster with the frizzle gene.

So....from what I am being told and reading, I'm wasting my time with a smooth feathered rooster with a frizzle gene as it does not happen. Genetics-what fun-it would be nice if sources were all reliable.

He could be carried the frizzle gene. But, if you want more frizzles you need to breed your frizzle hen to a smooth rooster. Do not breed two frizzles together though.

No. If frizzle is dominant or incomplete dominant the trait is visual. Since my little rooster does not show the trait he does not carry the frizzle gene. I was thinking frizzle was not dominant or recessive; then the frizzle gene could be hidden/a smooth rooster could carry the frizzle gene. Apparently I am just unlucky that none of Frizzy's chicks have been frizzle-possibly because the embryos are too weak to go all the way through incubation. The mortality rate is around 50%/50%+ die in development.

Certainly easy to do as genetics seems to work differently for every case. I thought frizzle was recessive and… I guess not from all I've read and been told.
